With my peak visualised, energy managed, today on the 4th day, I was truly enjoying my run.
And when I came back home and checked he run stats, I was up for some interesting revelation.
What was it? Read on –
Today I had truly enjoyed my run.
I had run at a constant pace, observed things around, taken in as much fresh air as possible and had been mindful of everything.
As I reached home, I was more refreshed than ever.
When I turned to the run stats, I realised that as compared to the first day I had just taken a minute more to finish the run.
And that got me wondering – is all that effort leading huffing and puffing worth it just to gain a minute.
I mean what is the point of running if you are not enjoying it.
And that is when I truly understood the law of marginal returns.
At the workplace I have seen people working under pressure to get things completed on time. But how often do they succeed?
Despite their best efforts they aren’t able to meet the deadlines and the prime reason for that is they are not enjoying it.
Putting in the effort when you are not enjoying it is going to wear you out and you will end up doing a shabby job.
Instead enjoy doing it, be playful and see the difference.
You may just take a little more time, but the work done will be up to the mark. And more often than not, you will end up getting a pat on the back.
So no point sweating out unnecessarily.
Enjoy the run and enjoy what you do!
